The dragon and the two beasts return in the sixth bowl. Daniel 7:3-7 and Revelation 13:2 describe the same beasts, and the horror of the beast stands against the beauty of the Lord, with the elect secure in heaven.
Matthew 8 tells of a storm on the sea and a legion of demons driven into it, and the church is present in both stories. Revelation 13 takes up Daniel’s prophecy of the beasts and surpasses it. The beast with the mortal wound in 13:3 stands at the center.
